Call to Arms

How can we institute changes in our communities. First it begins with us. First we change how we interact with our environment our home. No more littering and defacing our property how do we expect others to respect us. I feel that is step one, step two is change the way we interact with our peers and our neighbors. It is said that a people divided will fall, we stand divided in our communities every day. We fight amongst ourselves whether it be gang related, racial,or petty differences. This fighting amongst us is probably the most detrimental of all things plaguing the inner city communities.

With that said why should we want to take on the difficult task of changing ourselves and the way we interact with the people who we probably can't stand. Because we all have families, children, loved ones that we want the best for. If we take on this task we can provide better communities for them all.

Ever wonder how some communities in NYC look so beautiful while others are all broken down and dilapidated. How public services like police, fire, and medical respond faster to some areas and slower to others. This is greatly proportionate to how they view these communities as a whole. Let us change our view of our selves and our communities and then change their view of us. Our families deserve better parks and public services, better schools, better opportunities if we come together we will be able to obtain power.

Power through votes that is. Why are votes important votes win elections, and quite simply politicians want to win elections. So if our inner city communities come together as a whole we begin to vote in higher numbers like 100% ( always aim high) Politicians now have to pay attention to us we control the majority of votes. No longer will the deciding factor be how much money you make but now how many people do you represent. Do you see the reason why the powers that be don't mind the inner city communities fighting and bickering because divided your not a threat to their plans.God forbid your eyes are ever opened, you could influence change. Didn't we see an example of this change that can occur when people come together, people who never before were together, people who never voted a day in their lives, came out and voted and we obtained a new president unlike any we have ever had before. Change has to start somewhere let it start in us. We can do this together.
